On to the Five Senses

We had so much fun with The Kissing Hand.  I hope you all enjoyed the photographs with your children making their own kissing hands. Screen Shot 2016-08-19 at 11.35.10 AM

This week we will be talking about the five senses and reading a book by Aliki called, My Five Senses.  If you don’t have a copy, check one out at the library and read it with your child.

On ‘speech day’ we will be doing an activity with popcorn.  The children will use their five senses to see, smell, touch, hear, and taste popcorn.  We will use words that describe like, white, fluffy, crunchy, yummy, salty and light.  Read the book that they make and talk about all of the words they used to describe.   Try something different and  make your own batch of popcorn together on the stove or in a popcorn popper instead of the microwave.

Please practice the /s/ poem and bring an item that begins with /s/ in your Surprise Bag.

Have a great week!
